Our
Story

Our pastor, Cary Green, and his family worked for nearly ten years as church-planting missionaries in East Berlin. When they returned to the United States, the elders of their church in Berlin, following the model of Acts 13:1-4, laid hands on Cary and sent him out to do the work of church-planting in Everett, Washington. Joining him in this endeavor were his twin brother, Chris Green, and another friend, Scott Luse. Both of those men were already faithful servants in their local church, and both of them had a desire to see a Biblical church planted in the neighboring city of Everett. And so “Everett Bible Church” was born on July 5th, 2009, with about 80 people in attendance that first Sunday.

Since that time the LORD has grown our congregation not only in numbers, but also in unity and maturity. For the first 5 years of our existence, we met at Normanna Lodge in Everett. Then in October of 2014, the LORD blessed us with our current church building in Lake Stevens, and we changed our name to “Cornerstone Bible Church.” Scott Luse has since moved away, but Chris Green continues to serve CBC as an elder, and the Lord has raised up David Cardenas as our third elder.
